The Mitchell Family, friends of ours, experienced an unimaginable tragedy this morning when a devastating fire on Lantern Hill Rd in the Mystic/Stonington area destroyed their home. It was a total loss, and they escaped with only the clothes on their backs. Thankfully, the entire family and their beloved dog Ollie made it out safely, but they are now facing the overwhelming challenge of starting over with nothing.

 The funds raised will help the Mitchell Family replace everyday living essentials that we all take for granted—temporary housing, clothing, food, toiletries, pet supplies, phones, and more. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference as they work to rebuild their lives and regain a sense of normalcy.

 My husband, Robert, and I, along with our now adult children, also lost our home to a devastating fire more than 30 years ago. The support we received from our community was a lifeline, and we are forever grateful. Now, it is our turn to pay that kindness forward and help the Mitchell Family in their time of need.
