Help the Medinas during these tough times

Donation protected

The Medina family came into my life a few weeks ago as part of the pro Bono work I handle. Initially, it was just another case. But as I heard their story and felt their goodness and love, I knew God had brought them to me for a reason. The family has always been hardworking, God loving and always paid their rent on time. In July, Mr. Medina had a stroke while at work and their world collapsed. Mrs. Medina now cares for him 24/7 while their only daughter attends school virtually. As their attorney I was able to delay the eviction process but after a victory in court their electricity was shut off. I immediately filed an emergency motion and after a few hearings the landlord says the electricity will be turned back on. We are still waiting for it to go on and they are still in the dark. When I told them that the electricity would go back on, their beautiful little daughter started crying and gave me the biggest bear hug and told me “Thank you. I love you”. As I write this I get tears in my eyes. I do not write this to give myself kudos but to share their story with you. Without electricity their food has spoiled, medicine has gone bad, their daughter cannot do online school. They have no heat. You can only imagine the distress. The Medinas are desperate to move to a new home that has electricity but their funds are extremely limited to pay for a security deposit. Any little bit would help this loving family to re-start their lives.  May this little post remind you how blessed our lives are and to pray for those families like the Medinas.
