Help the Manuel family start again

In the early morning hours of September 22, 2017 the Manuel Family of Buffalo New York lost their home and all their belongings to a rapidly spreading house fire. Given the speed at which flames engulfed the structure the three family members injured while fleeing the home were fortunate to escape with minor burns. Although they are extremely grateful to have evaded serious harm their lives have been disrupted once again. Refugees from Burma, the family escaped significant danger and financial ruin to begin a new life in the United States. They worked hard to rebuild their lives twice before and have very limited resources to do so again.
Dad - Jerry and Mom - Raine are the nicest, most generous people you could ever meet. Despite their modest income they never miss an opportunity to celebrate a special occasion with a thoughtful gift or a favorite treat. The term “having a bad day” is truly foreign to them and their happiness is infectious. Even on the day of this terrible fire they remained positive, hopeful and thankful for the chance to begin again. If the tables were turned they would be leading the charge to help a family in need.
Jerry has been a beloved member of the Kaleida Healthcare team at Buffalo General Medical Center since July of 2014 where he helps take care of our community’s sickest people every day. Jerry always meets everyone with a smile, a hello and a handshake, which seems to be a rare virtue in the busy workplace of today.
Please help this amazingly positive and resilient family rebuild their lives. There has never been any one more deserving of your kindness and generosity.
