Liverpool Community Chorus-For Mom

As many of you know,my family lost my Mom this past year. It's been a very difficult time for all of us, as she was part of every aspect of our lives. She is missed each and every day. My Mom Sallie, loved life! She didn't always have it easy, but she always made the best of it and kept moving forward when most people would have stopped. She is one of the strongest people I have ever known. Anyone who has ever met her, remembers how her personality could fill a room and how one meeting, would never be forgotten. She was just that memorable! This time of year was always her favorite. She loved when the family got together, the laughs, the music, the movies! She loved everything about the holiday season. It's because of her, this is all of our favorite time of the year. She is forever woven into every good memory we all have. That is why, I just couldn't let this season go by without giving her one last Christmas gift. It just wouldn't seem like Christmas if my Mom wasn't on my list. So, the best thing I could think of was to fundraise for a cause for her. The obvious choice would be the American Cancer Society. But the more I thought about it, she would want it to be something happy. Something that would bring a smile to her face. Something that brought her joy. When my parents still lived in the village, my Mom was part of the Liverpool Community Chorus. After many years have passed, some mebers who are still singing with the group, remember my Mom fondly. And with the organization from my Niece Rebecca, they are dedicating a song to my Mom in an upcomming concert they are doing. Even after the years she stopped singing with them, she spoke of her wonderful time there and how much she enjoyed it.She still talked about her trip to Messina, NY and a singing event they did there and how much fun she had. I think she would be smiling down at this choice. For those of you who don't know about the Liverpool Community Chorus, here is a little bit of info on them:

They were formed in 1980 to sing for the Villages Sesquicentennial, and was so popular among the listenrs and singers, they decided to continue. They have been bringing music to CNY now for 37 years! Thousands have heard them perform at Liverpool High School, Johnson Park, tree lighting ceremonies, the Everson Museums Festival of tree's, area Nursing Homes, and throughout CNY. They performed in Liverpool England and even on a crusie ship! The groups principle is to give back to the community.Along with their "LCC Community Outreach" endeavers, they have participated in "Sing for the Cure" in support of Susan G. Komen Foundation, they've done benefits for Ophelia's Place and contributed soundtracks to Big Mikes Christmas CD that benefits Casey's Place. They help charities such as Hospice of CNY,Liverpool Dollars for Scholars, Humane Society, Vera House, Liverpool Public Library, Meals on Wheels,and the Butterfly Garden.

My Mom would love to know, one of her favorite things she has done, is getting some help. All donations are used for their Outreach program, Scholarships, and some of their general operating costs. Mom, we love you, miss you, and think of you every day. You are part of so many people's memories and loved by more people than I think you ever knew. We will miss you this Holiday season and every season going forward. I know you are smiling down on all of us and knowing you did good. Love you more than anything Mom.
