Support for Jayla, Kayla, and Jonathan Leezy After Tragic Accident
On June 20th, a devastating accident in Centerville changed everything for my goddaughter Jayla, and two of my most favorite people—Kayla (Hendershot) and Jonathan Leezy.
While riding on a golf cart 13-year-old Jayla, Kayla, Jonathan, and one of Jayla’s best friends were struck by a driver under the influence in broad daylight at 50mph. The impact was catastrophic—all four were ejected from the vehicle, leaving the golf cart destroyed and their lives forever changed.
Kayla, a mom of 4 plus step mom of 3, was airlifted to a hospital in Chattanooga and has already undergone three surgeries, with more ahead. She suffered a shattered ankle, severe head trauma, arterial bleeding, and multiple internal injuries.
Jayla and her friend were transported to a nearby hospital and later airlifted and transferred to a hospital in Nashville. Jayla has sustained multiple broken bones, head trauma, and significant blood loss. She has already undergone surgery to address complications from her injuries.
Jonathan, a U.S. military veteran, remained in critical condition for over a week. He has multiple brain bleeds, a partially severed ear, extensive head trauma, and numerous broken bones. Currently, the VA is only covering the cost of a wheelchair and hospital bed.
The financial burden from this tragedy is easily reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the emotional toll is immeasurable.
I’m asking for any support you can offer to help carry them through the long road ahead. Whether it’s helping with hospital bills, travel, food, or simply allowing them to focus on healing—every single dollar matters.
If you can give, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you can't, please share this page, pray for Jayla, Kayla, and Jonathan, and help us spread their story. It’s truly a God-given miracle they are still alive.
Let’s surround the Leezy family with love, strength, and support.
With all my heart,
