Help the Kinders

On Sunday, October 20th, tornados and high winds ripped through Dallas and Richardson, sending a 60-foot-tall red oak crashing down on my parents' house. David and Becky were standing in the living room at 9:18PM when the tree hit, but thankfully they were able to get out in time and neither was hurt. Their house, however, suffered serious damage.
As anyone who's been there knows, the Kinder home on Phillips Street is much more than just a house. My dad, David, has lived there since 1944. He and his sister Lee grew up there. My mom, Becky, has lived there since she and David got married in 1970. My brother Pat and I were raised there. The house is a member of the family; it's been a place for friends to gather for generations to visit, play games, eat good food, have Halloween parties, celebrate Christmases, and go on Easter egg hunts.
Our hope is to save my parents' house and repair it if possible, or build a new home there if not. Either way, the Kinders have a large financial burden on their hands. They do have insurance, but not a lot, and it will not come close to covering their expenses. If you can, please help them navigate this difficult time by making a donation. Money earned here will be used to pay for home repairs, supplies, storage, moving, and living expenses.
