HELP THE HUNGRY (PILGRIM'S PROGRESS FOOD PANTRY)

Tax deductible
Pilgrims Progress Food Pantry is the oldest and largest pantry on the south side of Peoria.  This neighborhood is historically in need of help; however, the addition of the pandemic has caused a severe crisis.

Our Food Pantry is now serving over 550 people a week!  Because we are all volunteer and have no form of public assistance,  we were already working at capacity. We have served our community without asking for help of any kind.  We operate out of our fellowship hall and the food pantry has completely taken over this entire area.

In addition, we have a gravel parking lot and an entrance into our (used by food pantry recipients) building that is a standard size door. Our parking lot needs to be paved (at the absolute minimum - concrete pad poured) and the door enlarged as those handicapped individuals need to wait outside for us to bring food to them.  Sometimes in the rain or the freezing cold!

As you can see, we need more storage to accommodate our ever-increasing need.  In addition, we have been manually loading all the food, lifting it back out of the truck, packing the individual bags for each family, distributing them and then cleaning up with the weekly event is done.  Our patrons do not just receive a few cans of food.  We supply them with a bag of food that will least for the following days - plus they get milk and bread.  Our team is so dedicated, but they are also very tired.

Your help is deeply appreciated!  And we thank you in advance for helping us succeed!
