The Howland family is facing the unimaginable loss of their home and everything in it to the Palisades fire.

On Tuesday January 8th 2025, Jim & Tina (my parents) had to flee their home carrying only a box of family photos and the clothes on their back. They didn’t know they would never return to their home of over a decade and that their town that had been their family's home for multiple generations would be reduced to ash and rubble.

That evening as they sheltered at our place they watched teary eyed as the TV showed their home ablaze.

Jim and Tina built their lives around their family and community in Pacific Palisades. Tina had grown up with her siblings in the community and had raised her family with Jim. Throughout their lives they have always been kind and generous to all they knew and their warm hearts made anyone lucky enough to know feel blessed. They are now left with nothing but memories and have no possessions and no home.
