Surviving the Battle

Donation protected
After having been diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2016, surgery in November, and chemo and radiation, I was no longer able to perform my job in a safe manner. I had to give up a job that I enjoyed, because I did not qualify for medical leave, as I had not been with the company that long yet. I have paid my bills and kept a roof over my family's heads by using a small amount of savings and selling my handmade jewelry online. I have been declared cancer free, and for that, I am extremely grateful. Unfortunately, at this time, any savings I had is completely gone, and the online jewelry business doesn't exactly pay the bills. I have found a new job. However, because of the company's pay schedule, I won't receive my first paycheck until the end of June, and it will only be a partial check. I went back and forth over the idea of creating this campaign, but I finally came to the conclusion that I had fought so hard and tried for so long to do things on my own that I couldn't let pride cause me to fail myself and my child when we're so close to being alright again. The amount of the goal will go to rent, utilities, gas, car insurance, groceries, and some work that needs to be done to our car, so that I can keep getting to work. I'll thank anyone who feels moved to and is able to help. If you can't help, please don't feel bad. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
