Help the HERD!!!!!
Donation protected
The herd at Healing Hearts Hooves & Paws has kept us hopping - diagnosis and treatments every week for the last 90 days. It has been crazy - both coordinating and scheduling as well as racking up the bills.
Glitter - Corneal ulcer, seeing a specialist 3/08 for cornea debriding to save the eye and then off to another specialist the following week for teeth removal because of EOTRH that was left untreated by her former owner.
Charlotte - treated for two weeks at the vet right off the kill lot for pneumonia and then colic
Streak - navicular cysts
Blizzy - xrays and hock injections
Casey - xrays for arthritic changes
Lola - prolapsed rectum
Danny Boy (John Wayne)/Waffles/Bold Journey - vet checks for all three when they were saved off the kill lot and vaccinations.
Our total since mid-December is $5,382. Glitter has the two procedures upcoming that will cost $2.050. In addition, spring vetting is next month and that typically runs $1,800-2,200.
We are a small group that 98% of our costs on our own, without donations. we also spend $700/month on trainers right now for a few of our horses that need tune ups in order to ready to be solid partners for future owners.
We could really use some support for this most basic of needs. Providing quality care that is needed for each and every horse is something we pride ourselves on. Because for the time that we have them and the rest of their lives with adopters, we will always ensure their safety and well being.
Every dollar that is raised to help our rescue herd is very greatly appreciated. Over the last 3 years we have rescued 30 (!) horses and been very fortunate to have placed 7 horses.
We feel these horses need a second chance and by donating to the vet fundraiser you are helping them get just that. No horse deserves to be sent to slaughter and we are doing what we can to save one life at a time.
Thank you for reading our story and thank you for every penny raised.
