Help the Gordon Anderson Family

On Friday, September 14th, Gordon Peter Anderson was surrounded by friends and family at Saint Peter’s Hospital in Olympia as they said their final goodbyes to him at 3:36 p.m. He had been in the ICU since suffering from a traumatic and unexpected cardiac arrest on Monday, September 10th. He was only 33 years old.
We are shocked and devastated by the loss of such a kind and generous soul, who has left his mark on so many lives. Gordon will live on, not only in our hearts, but in the very real sense that as his final gesture of goodwill, he has offered himself as an organ donor. His two kidneys now give new life and hope to two separate families.
Memorial plans are still being arranged, and any updates regarding location and times will be posted here and via Facebook. The outpouring of support and love these last few days has been incredible. Many have asked if there is anything they can do to help. One way to help would be to support this campaign. In addition to her grief, his mother, Gena also faces the unfortunate financial burden of medical bills, funeral and memorial costs, along with other expenses. Funds raised in this campaign will go directly to Gena to cover these costs.
Gena has always been the heart of Gordon’s world and vice versa. We as a family love the flood of positive energy that everyone has shown this week. Gordon left every place he went better for having been there. His essence was pure love, non-judgmental, and genuine. Gordon was a friend to everyone and loved by all. He gave the best hugs! Let’s please keep that love flow rippling forward as we are not a family that needs to mourn quietly or alone. Let’s keep Gordon’s brightness and laughter alive. Gena will need your support, as will her family in the coming weeks, months, and years. Continued messages, phone calls, and visits are welcome.
