<div>Leo, is a devoted husband, a loving father of three children, and a deeply involved member of his church community. He leads the Youth Group at church with his wife, Jessica, and also serves on the Worship Team. Both Leo and Jessica are always showing up for others without hesitation.
</div>

</div>
<div>Over the past several months, Leo and his family have endured more than any family should have to face. Earlier this year, Leo had to take significant time off work to care for his wife during a serious medical condition that required her to be hospitalized for more than two weeks. Shortly after that, their youngest child, who is just eight years old, underwent several surgeries to dilate her airway. She has also been scheduled for major reconstructive surgery of her airway in January. Following this surgery, she is expected to remain in the ICU for nearly a month.

<div>Last week, medical challenges arose again. Leo went to the hospital not feeling well and doctors discovered that he had severe blockages in his heart. It is nothing short of a miracle that Leo is still with us.

</div>
<div>On December 11, Leo underwent emergency, open-heart, quadruple bypass surgery. He survived, but his recovery will be long and challenging. Leo will also be unable to work for several months while his body heals.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Leo is the breadwinner of his family and is on <strong>unpaid medical leave.</strong> He does not have short-term or long-term disability coverage, and unfortunately he and his wife Jessica were dropped from their insurance over the summer. His wife works at their church, but her income alone is not enough to cover living expenses. With Leo unable to work, the family is now facing extensive medical bills on top of the regular cost of living. Medical bills are expected to reach hundreds of thousands of dollars, including Leo’s open-heart surgery, therapy,  and medications.

<div>Despite everything they are going through, the Garcia Family remains faithful, humble, and focused on caring for one another. They are the kind of people who would give the shirt off their backs to help someone else. Now, we would like to help them in their time of need.

<div>Leo es un esposo devoto, un padre amoroso de tres hijos y un miembro muy activo de su comunidad religiosa. Dirige el grupo de jóvenes de la iglesia junto con su esposa, Jessica, y también participa en el equipo de alabanza. Tanto Leo como Jessica siempre están dispuestos a ayudar a los demás sin dudarlo.

<div>En los últimos meses, Leo y su familia han pasado por más dificultades de las que cualquier familia debería afrontar. A principios de este año, Leo tuvo que ausentarse del trabajo durante un tiempo considerable para cuidar a su esposa, quien padecía una grave enfermedad que requirió su hospitalización durante más de dos semanas. Poco después, su hija menor, de tan solo ocho años, se sometió a varias cirugías para dilatar sus vías respiratorias. Además, tiene programada una importante cirugía reconstructiva de las vías respiratorias para enero. Se espera que, tras esta operación, permanezca en la unidad de cuidados intensivos durante casi un mes.

<div>La semana pasada, surgieron nuevos problemas de salud. Leo acudió al hospital porque no se sentía bien y los médicos descubrieron que tenía obstrucciones graves en el corazón. Es un verdadero milagro que Leo siga con nosotros.

<div>El 11 de diciembre, Leo se sometió a una cirugía de bypass cuádruple a corazón abierto de emergencia. Sobrevivió, pero su recuperación será larga y difícil. Leo tampoco podrá trabajar durante varios meses mientras se recupera.
</div>

</div>
<div>Leo es el sostén de su familia y se encuentra con una licencia médica sin goce de sueldo. No cuenta con seguro por incapacidad temporal ni permanente, y lamentablemente, él y su esposa Jessica perdieron su seguro médico durante el verano. Su esposa trabaja en su iglesia, pero sus ingresos no son suficientes para cubrir los gastos. Dado que Leo no puede trabajar, la familia ahora se enfrenta a cuantiosas facturas médicas, además de los gastos de vida habituales. Se estima que los gastos médicos ascenderán a cientos de miles de dólares, incluyendo la cirugía a corazón abierto de Leo, la terapia, los medicamentos y la próxima estancia de su hija en la unidad de cuidados intensivos.

<div>A pesar de todo lo que están pasando, la familia García se mantiene fiel, humilde y unida, cuidándose mutuamente. Son personas que no dudarían en ayudar a quien lo necesite. Ahora, queremos ayudarlos en estos momentos difíciles.
