Help the Folsom family during Shiloh’s recovery

My name is Jordan Folsom, and I am the oldest of my siblings. My mom is a foster parent, and adopted all 3 of my siblings after fostering them. My mom and I both work and share the bills, and I try to help watch my siblings when she needs me to. Our lives were upended on December 3rd though when my 16-year-old sister, Shiloh, was hit by a truck.

Shiloh is facing a long recovery process which is stressful for the entire family.

With Shiloh in the hospital and all of the restrictions surrounding COVID-19, it has made it difficult for my mom to work and impossible for my mom and I to work at the same time. It has become apparent that we will not have enough money to pay all of our bills for the next few months if my mom is unable to work her normal hours.

The school my siblings attend recently went to remote learning. It worked well when all three of my siblings could do their schoolwork at the same time while Shiloh kept an eye on them. Now either my mom or I have to be home with them which severely decreases our work availability. My mom attempted to put my brothers into daycare while she was at work, but none of the daycares in the area had open spots for them.
