A Love Story,

Eddie (75) and Marie (61) were married last year; it was truly a joyous occasion!

Six weeks ago, Eddie took Marie to the ER with flu symptoms. Marie was diagnosed with Streptococcal Pneumonia, admitted to the ICU, put on kidney dialysis, ECMO machine, and a ventilator. The doctors put her into an induced coma for approximately 2 weeks. She came out of the coma for one day, opened her eyes, and was able to respond with non-verbal head nods. Unfortunately, the next day she had a setback. At one point, she flatlined and needed to be revived. In the course of reviving her, a couple of ribs were broken. In the past month, she has been put on a trach, a feeding tube and sedated the majority of the time. Marie fought hard and Saturday, April 19 at 5pm she crossed the finish line and won the gold in heaven with our Lord and Savior.

Marie has two children, Brice, in his 20s and Amelia in her early 30s who have never seen their mother sick a day in their lives. This is extremely hard for them. Marie also has a 5-year-old grandson.

As you can imagine the medical bills are astronomical being that Marie was in the ICU for 6 weeks. Eddie is on social security, and Marie had the lowest tier of Obama Care for medical insurance. There are a lot of bills to pay and needs to be met.

This is a tough time for everyone. Please, if you can help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. The funds raised will go to cover memorial/funeral, rent, monthly bills, and medical expenses.
