Help the Family of Karen Di Tommaso

Donation protected
Karen is a victim of Renal Cell Carcinoma. Karen was diagnosed in 1996 when her daughter Jamie was 8 months old. At that time she was given 15 months to live. With Karen’s will to continue on and be there for her husband Jim, her daughter Jamie and eventually 10 years later her son Jimmy she has fought this battle for over 22 years. Although she struggled those 22 years with over 10 surgeries and many other issues and side effects, she has continued to keep a positive attitude along with allowing her Catholic faith to help her through this. A few months ago Karen was back in the hospital for what she expected to be a few days for the removal of a few new tumors. The surgery went wrong and Karen ended up with Sepsis and in Septic Shock. The statistics says that only 40% of the patients make it through Septic Shock. Karen was in intensive care for over 2 months and multiple times the doctors wanted to pull her off all life support as they felt she could or would not make it. Her husband Jim and her children Jamie and Jimmy have been extremely strong advocates at her side everyday fighting and praying to keep her alive and helping her get through this. With Karen’s and Jim’s fight, Karen’s will to live, the prayers and support of family and friends, the strong faith of Father Ryan and the St. Francis Community, Karen is now home after many months in the hospital and Rehabilitation Center and is hopefully on her road to recovery. They all need your continued prayers and support.
