Help the Families of Crestview that are Homeless

Tragedy has struck another condominium tower located in North Miami Beach. I am the Mayor of North Miami Beach and I’m trying to raise funds to help the families and children that have had to evacuate and are displaced due to the tragedy at Crestview Towers condominium. Your help will allow them to find a new home, because the building is currently condemned due to the negligence and lack of work and certifications the association failed to comply with, especially life and safety issues . They have ruined people lives and their is no telling when or if they will get back in this building to live. They need to find a new place to stay and call home. Currently our city is working with the homeless trust, The Miami Dolphins and other organizations to help house all these families and feed them, but eventually these resources are going to run out. I would like to make sure that we can have money in place so they can establish their lives somewhere else and move on with life, work, school and get back to normalcy. I can’t do this alone, we need help!

So you can better understand; On Friday July 2nd , the City of North Miami Beach had no choice but to responsibly evacuate over 300 families from Crestview Towers because the building was deemed unsafe to live. Over 39 violations from the fire department, concrete restoration on building and balconies, electrical issues, and many other issues. The building has failed to perform the 40 and 50 year certifications that are required by state law. It appears that they will not be able to return to their homes anytime soon. Therefore, relocation is their next and only option.

The funds I am requesting will be used towards helping families relocate and to put a deposit, first and last payment towards their new rents, and help them with other needs as well. Many of them are struggling very hard to come up with such funds, because they either they are on fixed incomes, retired or have lost all there invested money and can’t get it back from the association. The situation is very sad and unfortunate. We can help make a difference for these families.

The donations will be spent by giving those families who are in real need the sufficient funds to get back on their feet. I have a list of names and phone numbers already generated.

I would like to have the funds by The first week of August, 2021. Time is of the essence. As I said, a local organization was helping some of them with temporary motels and/or hotels stay but they have to eventually get out soon. Many of them still don't know what to do or where to go! They have no means to get anything done. Respectfully, once the funds are received, I will call, contact, and meet with those who we have already identified and make the proper arrangements to assure them they can move with certainty.

The support will mean the world to me and the families and children affected. School is about to start and these parents and children are very scared and confused. It would be an honor and much joy to see that these families are able to find a new place where they would call home again, and try to resume their lives in peace.
