As some of you may or may not already know, Joanne and Rick’s oldest son, Logan who is 16 years old, was diagnosed with testicular cancer a few months ago. After complaining of terrible pains and visits to the emergency room, just to be sent home and told it was likely a virus or an infection, finally a visit to urgent care, got the attention of the right medical team at the right time.

Logan was then sent to Albany Medical Center for more tests and it was determined that it was not in fact just an infection. Logan and his family got the devastating news that it was stage 2 testicular cancer and that he would need to have surgery immediately, with chemotherapy treatments to follow.

Joanne of course has not been able to continue working through this time and has taken a leave of absence from her job, and is only receiving a small portion of her pay for the time she is unable to work to take care of Logan. While Logan is receiving his chemotherapy, he stays in the hospital for each round of treatment for about 7 days at a time, where he then is able to return home until the next treatment.

At this time we are hoping to help out this wonderful family with any kind of support we can provide. Between the loss of pay, and the trips back and forth to Albany they can use any help we can give them.

Anyone who knows Joanne, Rick, Logan and his younger brother Mason, knows that they are the most caring and most generous people. They have always helped anyone and everyone they can. And they will continue to do so regardless of their own situation. But right now it’s our turn to try and help them!

Let’s try to make this extremely difficult time for them a little bit easier if we can!!
