The City Arms has been proudly trading in the heart of Manchester City centre for over 190 years and is rightly considered a favourite drinking den to many people.
Due to the current global situation we have been forced to close the doors to business for the first time in our history.
As we cannot trade during this period we have no means of income but, we still have bills going out every week and, others awaiting us on reopening (extra rent).
The rent for our premises (Greene king owned & expensive enough as it is) has been ‘paused’ meaning, that when we are allowed to reopen our rent will affectively be doubled to accommodate a period of non-payment over which we have had no control whatsoever.
That, coupled with all of the additional start-up costs that we are going to encounter leave us in a tricky situation.
We are asking for the help of our supporters to assist us in easing the financial strain of the reopening process we are going to face shortly.
Any contribution at all would be massively appreciated and would help us ensure that one of the longest serving and most loved pubs in the city centre can continue to trade.
Thanks very much in advance,
City arms x
