Stephen Drake-Jones is the Chairman of the Wellington Society of Madrid and a dear friend of mine whose livelihood is being disrupted by the coronavirus. I’m asking for your help.
The Wellington Society of Madrid is a Madrid based historical society devoted to the history of the Peninsular Wars, the history of Madrid and surrounding towns, and Hemingway’s time in Spain. The only income for the Society and for Stephen is from the walking tours that Stephen leads.
The Coronavirus the effecting people around the world. Thankfully, while Stephen remains healthy, it appears that there will be no tourism in Madrid and all of Spain for some time. This means that Stephen is left without any means or supporting himself.
Donate here and I will make sure it gets to him.
When this is over, we hope you will come to Madrid where you will receive VIP treatment and perhaps something special for you to take home with you (perhaps one of Stephen’s books or a traditional Spanish fan after you tour the workshop with him)
