Refugio de Gatos Tarifa is a small non-profit association located at the southernmost point of Europe, in Tarifa, Spain. We are dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and protecting abandoned and vulnerable cats. Our work is based entirely on love for animals, volunteer effort, and small donations — we operate with very limited resources, but with a lot of heart. Since the beginning, our mission has been simple but essential: to give every cat a second chance. We rescue those left behind — sick, abandoned, or hungry — provide them with food, care, and medical attention when possible, and help them find a safe foster home or adoption. Working in Tarifa is not easy. The number of stray animals is high, public support is scarce, and we often live on the edge financially. We are not a big organization; we don’t have large facilities or steady funding. But every day, we do everything we can so that each cat feels safe, cared for, and loved. What keeps us going is love — love for life, love for animals, and the belief that every being deserves dignity and care. If you’d like to help in a sustainable way, please consider setting up a monthly donation. Even a few euros each month give us the security to buy food, pay vet bills, and plan ahead — it’s what keeps the shelter alive. Thanks to everyone who supports us — by donating, sharing, or simply spreading the word — we can keep feeding, treating, and protecting the cats who depend on us. With your help, we continue. Because our resources are limited, but our compassion is not. ❤️
