<div>On March 31st, the Capocciama family’s world turned upside down. Jack was suddenly diagnosed with profound heart failure. For a terrifying moment, we didn’t know if he would survive. Nurses later told us that if we hadn’t acted quickly and gotten him to the hospital when we did, he wouldn’t have made it. The thought of what could have happened—he, or even worse, our daughter, coming home to a tragedy—is something we can barely imagine.

<div>Thankfully, he’s home now and beginning the road to recovery—but the journey ahead is long, uncertain, and expensive.

<div>Jack was uninsured at the time of his diagnosis, and we are still in the process of navigating insurance for him. So far, we’ve received over $150,000 in hospital bills—but that’s only a portion. We’re still waiting on bills for additional tests and procedures, and this doesn’t include the $50,000 defibrillator that was implanted to keep him alive. On top of that, I had to be by his side without pay because I had no PTO, and we also had to temporarily adjust the hours at our family business, Capy’s Italian Restaurant, which affects our income even more.

<div>This isn’t just about bills. This is a husband, father, son, brother, and uncle—a man who means everything to the Capocciama family. Every day that he’s here is a miracle, and we want to focus on helping him heal without being overwhelmed by financial stress.
