Help The Butler's Rebuild from fire

Donation protected
On October 8, 2017 at 2:00am, we prepared to evacuate our home due to a wildland fire in our home town of Santa Rosa, CA.  Within five minutes of hear it was approaching, we heard the fire  had jumoed the freeway and was actually burning in our subdivision. We went to panic mode and got the dogs secured in the car and ran back and tried to get things for ourselves. I personally ran to one neighbors house and tried to wak them up by screaming and beating on the door. They never opened their door and I had to leave with the dogs and our daughter Megan. Doug stayed back, refusing to leave, he and our neighbor Scott tried to put out spot fires with hoses until the water pressure was lost. He got one fire out in our yard and ine in neighbors yard and they tried to make sure people were leaving.  The house behind ours exploded and Doug decided to leave. He told Scott he it was time to go and Scott went back in house for one more item and when he drive away our house was on fire.
We lived in our home 24 years and 3 days. Raised four children there , 5 dogs and many litters of puppies for Canine Companions for Independence. Have so many memories of holidays and birthdays, summers outside with our friends, many families on our street were so close that we spend every Christmas morning together before we go off to our own families. We are "the hood". I miss seeing them everyday.   Most of all we are devstated by the momentoes we lost...Megans baby things to pass to her kids one day, Christmas tree ornaments that have meaning, 30 years of photos, things we kept from each dog, our kyaks..man just walking in the house and tossing the keys in the basket by the door. Thats what I wanted to do today. We also lost Megan's car which she used to get to college. She wants to get back to school to finish her pre-requisites to apply to nursing school.  This has been beyond comprehension. No one would have thought a wildland fire would destroy our town and five days later, it is still burning.  Our main concern right now is for Megan and making sure she feels secure again and not have to worry about the price of replacing her college books and her used car.
