Help the Burks!

Meet Adam Burks.

Adam was born with a condition know as "Transposition of the Great Arteries". When he was born he had 3 surgeries over his first year.

Those with his condition seldom live to be 20. Adam was lucky, his doctors used new techniques allowing him to live a fairly normal life for 30 years. He met Meghan and they made a family.

Adam has worked hard to provide for his family, but over the last nine years his heart has shown continuing signs of decline. He has been seeing doctors at the University of Minnesota and they have tried many medications, all taking a toll on his strength.

He recently had a pace maker/defibrillator installed which has taken a toll. The doctors don't know how long his heart will last, but they are doing everything they can to help.

Between the medications and the surgeries,  the doctors told Adam that he couldn't keep working. In June he began the process of getting disability pay, but that is a 6-12 month process. In the mean time all they will have to live on is Meghan's wage. Between doctor bills and daily expenses their savings are going fast.

They need to find a new home that they can afford with out Adams income. They have found a very nice mobile home in Big Lake.

With your help we can raise the $40,000 needed so they can purchase it outright. 

This won't be the end of Adams challenges, he likely will face a heart transplant in the next 2-5 years. The stress of dealing with all of this has really taken a toll on both Adam and Meghan.
