Help The Black Leaf Tea & Culture Shop Upscale

Help get my teas into stores and your homes!

I started The Black Leaf Tea & Culture Shop April 2019, and it is expanding a lot faster than I expected. The Black Leaf Tea & Culture Shop is a tea company with a social cause. Being from Chicago, when I moved to Providence, RI, I was shocked by the lack of diversity and spaces that I as a Black woman felt welcomed. I wanted to find a way to address this issue and begin my entrepreneurial journey. I created this business to share my love of loose leaf teas while engaging the community and celebrating black culture.

I now have 12 tea blends available (and more coming), the website is up and running, and host a monthly Young Black Professionals Mixer. Along with the mixers I host Tea Talks where we discuss topics from current events, pop culture, dating, and anything that impacts the Black community everyday.

The Signature 5 Tea Blends:

All of my blends are organic and natural. They are formulated, hand blended and packed myself.

•Sunday morning: Orange Peel, chamomile, lemongrass, spearmint.
•Salúd: Honeybush, red rooibos, lavender, rose petals.
•CoCo Bae: Black tea, shredded coconut, roasted cacao nibs.
•GLOW: Turmeric, ginger, lemon peel, black pepper.
•Money: Peppermint, spearmint, Sencha green tea, cinnamon.

Please Donate and Help Me Grow My Business:

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the operations and demand of my business. While I’m excited demand is so high, the pandemic has made it much harder to receive ingredients in a timely manner to keep up with demand. Using these funds to order a higher volume of ingredients and supplies will provide stability to my business by greatly increasing my inventory, grow my brand, and allow me more time and resources to plan the community and cultural events as well.

Your donation will go towards:
• Purchasing ingredients
•Purchasing packaging
•Purchasing labels
•Purchasing UPC codes
• Paying for kitchen time to blend and pack teas
• Product storage
•Market materials
• Update website.

The Black Leaf Tea & Culture is more than just a tea company. I work tirelessly everyday to think of ways to use my teas and brand to improve the community around me. Please donate to help me take my business to the next level,  continue to push the narrative of community and cultural engagement, and support a Black woman owned business in Providence, RI.
