Help the Berwick’s back on the road.

In the early hours of Saturday 25th July, someone broke into my home, taking the contents of my handbag, including my car keys.
I woke up to find my car gone. I’m very dependent on my car to get me to work and back, working for the NHS, I do 13 hour days and as you can imagine public transport between Manchester and Bolton is not the safest way to travel. I was insured, but have been landed with a £350 excess fee and it turns out any insurance payout would not cover the cost of the finance I still owe on the car. This leaves me without a car, but still paying for it.

I desperately need to get back on the road even if just in a cheap run around. If anyone could help us, we would be so grateful. Thank you.

Words from my Mum who suggested go fund me.

My daughters house was broken into while they slept in the early hours of Saturday morning. Her car was stolen along with her bag with her cards, money and driving license.

Jody is a Nurse at Manchester Royal Infirmary and has spent the last few months tirelessly caring for people with Covid, working 13 hour shifts as well as homeschooling her 4 children ranging from 6 to 13. It’s been exhausting for her but she’s carried on happily giving her life to help others.

Her insurance company have said they will only pay the value of the car now however she owes a lot more than that on her car loan. So she’s now left without a car and in debt. She desperately needs a car for work given the crazy hours she works. This is devastating for her and she needs a break.

The kids are afraid to sleep in the house. Cameron, her eldest at 13, has Aspergers and is trying desperately to make sense of what’s happened and he can’t. His condition means he needs to have an order for things to feel settled and safe. This is confusing and very scary for him.

I have been so proud of her commitment to her patients and the NHS during this pandemic and I’m heartbroken that thieves have taken not only her her means of getting to work but also the safe haven she comes back to after working those, often heartbreaking, shifts. Her home no longer feels safe.
