<div>I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my mom, Teri Benoit, and my dad, Michael Benoit. My dad suffered a stroke on Tuesday, October 15th and is currently dealing with some heart problems that they aren’t able to operate on yet. While the stroke has been at large, resolved, it has left him with significant speech aphasia. He can only speak a few words at a time and often can’t say what he is trying to say at all. Additionally, he lost some of his fine motor skills on the right side of his body. The doctors are hopeful that with the right therapies, he should be able to recover most, if not all, of his functions. Of more concern is his heart. They have him comfortable, but due to the stroke and risk of another brain bleed, they cannot perform the necessary surgeries just yet. My dad will have a long road of recovery ahead, riddled with various doctor appointments and months of rigorous therapies. During this time, he is unable to work, placing sole financial responsibilities onto my mom. My sister, Allie, and I have both traveled to Huntsville to provide support for our family during this time. The funds of this donation will be used directly to cover medical expenses incurred over the course of his recovery, with any remaining funds being used to support my mom during this time. We are grateful for all of you.
