Help the Bellchambers rebuild!

In January 2020 I had the honor of running the Yass Bushfire Relief Centre.

During that time, we delivered emergency supplies to the Snowy Mountain region and it was during one of our deliveries that we had the pleasure of meeting the Bellchambers family (albeit under unfortunate circumstances).

This beautiful family lost everything when the fires ravaged their town - their house, farm, machinery, sheds, vehicles and their business all went up in flames whilst they helped defend their neighbours property.

The farm provided the family's income, with Steve also running a rural and environmental contracting business.

Both forms of income disappeared with the fires, and to make matters worse, Steve is still recovering from a serious car accident.

The road to recovery after the fires has been a long one, with many setbacks along the way.

Steve and Vicky are two of the most selfless people I have ever met and despite their own struggles, they continue to be pillars of strength within their community.

Parents to 4 children and 2 permanent foster kids, their commitment to their community is inspirational.

They helped establish a valuable mental health program for farmers after the fires, Vicky works as a social worker helping at risk children, and they are constantly helping their friends and family in whatever way possible.

Community is at the heart of everything they do, including using their business insurance to
establish a new facility that will be available for community use for things such as events, markets, stock sales and emergency services.

Now it is our turn to take care of them!

The site of the old family home has finally been cleared and deemed safe to rebuild.

The Bellchambers have been given an opportunity to build an environmentally friendly, and fireproof, house with little to no carbon footprint.

Unfortunately due to a number of setbacks there is a shortfall of approx $40k in order to build the house they need to be able to continue taking in foster kids and other at risk children.

As it stands, their two older children (18 & 19) will need to live outside the main family home in order to have the space they are legally required to have whilst foster children are in their care.

$40k means they will be able to upgrade from a shed conversion to a proper house with enough rooms for their whole family.

Please help this family build the house they deserve!
