Hello! Early in the morning of April 3rd at approximately 1:30 am, the house of Courtneay and Charley Baldauf, along with their two children Lexi and Connor, caught on fire. There is still an investigation being conducted, but LFD informed us that it looked like a space heater was the root cause.

Not only within this mess have they lost their home and their camper, but they have lost multiple of their beloved pets. Only 2 out of 5 dogs were successfully rescued. Their turtle was fortunate enough to survive, but the snake couldn't make it. Charley's father was in the house, presumably asleep while the fire broke out. He was transferred to the hospital with no life-threatening injuries.

This is an absolutely gut-wrenching disaster overall. Courtneay and Charley were well over 6 hours from home helping family, while Connor and Lexi vouched to stay home to help with the care of their grandfather, along with keeping up on the responsibilities of the animals.

Tragedy struck. Your house burning down, losing everything, isn't always something you prepare for. A family lost their home, their pets, family valuables, important assets, simply stuff money cannot buy back.
