Help veteran Michael Baker fight cancer

Donation protected
On August 22nd our family learned that Michael, our 67 year old father, has a sizable mass in his bladder. On September 3rd he underwent a biopsy to attempt to remove the mass and we have learned that the problem is worse than we initially expected. We have confirmed that the tumor is cancerous and it may have  metastasized, the doctor believes the tumor has move into the bladder muscle and believes it is outside of the bladder. The next step is chemotherapy as well as a surgery to fully remove the bladder. The doctor wants to start chemotherapy as soon as they can.  Michael and his wife Cynthia relocated from Portland  Oregon to southern California 7 years ago for work, they have a wonderful group of friends where they live however they are going to be relocating back Portland Oregon to be with their 6 children and 8 grandchildren during this trying time.  They are hoping to be back in Oregon by the beginning of 2020. So we are hoping to raise the whole 10,000 by Christmas.  Any money donated will be used for: Relocation expenses  Medical necessities Co-pays Covering extra bills, as he will be unable to work for some time.  Michael's backstory Michael was born in Portland Oregon in 1952. He spent his childhood in northern California while his father, Bryon, worked as a mechanic building the Orville Dam. The family relocated back Gresham 1965. Michael went to high school at Gresham Union Highschool and graduated in 1970. In 1972 Michael joined the United States Navy.  He spent 2 years in Navy Nuclear Power school afterwards he volunteered for submarine service. He served as a nuclear ELT on a submarine in the Navy from 1974 to 1978. In 1976 he married the mother of his sons. They proceeded to have Adam, Andrew, Adrian, Mike, and Matthew between the years of 1978 and 1988. During that time he worked in Portland as an Electrical contractor for his own company.  In 1987 Michael sold his company to National Guardian Security and worked there from then until 1996. In September of 1996 Michael married Cynthia and merged their two families, acquiring his two daughters, Sarah and Samantha.  The family bonded over trips to Disneyland and their infamous annual weeklong camping trips. Michael and Cynthia ran a busy and packed house with their 6 kids and a few strays they treated as their own children.  In 1997 michael went to work for NJATC until 2002.  In 2002 he went to work for the AFAA until 2012. By that point all of their children were grown and had moved out of the house so they decided to relocated to southern California for the warmer weather and some sunshine.  Michael can usually be found on an airplane in a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and sandals regardless of the temperature and is often mistaken as a Santa Claus on vacation.
