Hi my name is Michelle Robinson and my family and I are devastated with the loss of my sister's husband Tony Azevedo. With the love and support from family and friends Minda and her son's will get through this difficult time. We'd like to help them get through the financial impact that they are currently enduring.
On Tuesday July 27th 2021 a strong man had a massive heart attack. Tony Azevedo.
Everyone who met Tony quickly discovered his desire to be helpful, his intense personal integrity and honesty. Those who’ve known him longer also recognize his love of family and as a person who would find a way to juggle priorities and lend a hand. And being a skilled and creative person in the construction industry, that need for Tony’s kind of help was frequently called upon by all of us!
He’d tell stories of the projects he’d accomplished and the incredible methods he had to use to get them done. With each word you can hear the pride he takes in those efforts.
Tony was in the process of moving his car when he collapsed and Minda found him lying outside his truck. She did what she could with the help of neighbors and the EMTs arrive shortly thereafter and treated and transported him to the hospital.
At the hospital, doctors found Tony had a completely blocked artery. They implanted a stent to correct that blockage. However, he was not out of the woods. They kept Tony sedated, and in a cooling blanket. He had been unconscious through all this, and they did not know how long he was without oxygen. When this happens there is a chance of some loss of brain function. Hospital staff monitored Tony for several days. Due to COVID restrictions visitations were limited and the nursing staff were able to do video conferencing so they could see and talk to Tony. Not being able to share even a touch, they were able to talk to him, and hope their words of love and comfort were received.
This went on for several days. Tony remained sedated but then had some seizures, which is typically an indication of some sort of brain damage. Therefore, a CT Scan and an MRI were ordered, and what they feared turned out to be true, Tony no longer had brain activity.
The decision to take him off life support was not easy… But, knowing Tony and his fierce independence and strength in body and spirit he would have insisted this be done. Tony passed away on Monday August 2, 2021. Minda, Zack and Chase were all blessed to have had the time and opportunity to say their final good-byes and share their deep love for the husband and father that he was.
We all feel a deep sense of loss, no longer having the rock of support we all could count on with Tony’s passing,
But none more than Minda, Zack and Chase.
We’re all shocked by how such a strong, young man could so suddenly be taken from us,
But none more than Minda, Zack and Chase.
We all loved Tony,
But none more than Minda, Zack and Chase.
Now we all have an opportunity to help.
We can do that by offering our love and support to Minda, Zack and Chase, through our words of comfort and keeping the Azevedo’s in our thoughts and prayers.
We can also help financially. They now have funeral expenses, and enormous medical bills. But, not only that, have also lost a primary source of family income. All of these seem small compared to the loss of their Husband and Father. But still these financial challenges will be a reality they will continue to deal with for a long time to come.
Please think of what Tony meant to you, and give what you can, to support Minda, Zack and Chase now.
Thank you!
