<div>The Anarchist refuses to operate according to the logic of Capitalism, employing exploitation in the mindless pursuit of growth and profit. All donations help to keep this place operating as a genuine <em>community resource, </em>not another petite bourgeois cafe that says, "community" when it means, "gentrification." This is not a money-making venture; I am significantly poorer than I was 2 years ago, and I had $0 to my name back then. I would love if the cafe could achieve the stability to provide a living wage for myself and a few other work-owners, but I will not dilute my politics to achieve that, whatever the consequences.

<div>In the nearly two years the cafe has been running, it has, among other things, already:

<li>contributed internationally to thrusting anarchism and anti-capitalism back into mainstream dialogue

<li>distributed hundreds of pieces of radical literature and propaganda
</li>
<li>given cheap, or free, food and drinks to any who can't afford to pay
</li>
<li>connected hundreds of leftists, who otherwise may never have met or collaborated
</li>
<li>provided a comfortable, humanising space to dozens of unhoused, precariously housed, and otherwise marginalised community members
</li>
<li>inspired others to conceive their own anti-capitalist community projects
</li>
<li>supported leftist artists and creators, and given locals access to their work at the lowest prices possible
</li>
<li>provided a free public bathroom in a neighbourhood full of shit-bag business owners who pretend theirs are "out of order" or reserve their use, "for paying customers only"
</li>
<li>provided lots of opportunities for me to engage in mutual aid, in many cases life-saving
</li>
<li>created a safe community space that is<em> </em>explicitely police and military-free
</li>
</ul>
