<div>On Tuesday March 10, 2026 around 6:30p.m., a powerful EF-3 tornado tore through Kankakee County, Illinois, leaving devastation across the community.

<div>Sadly, Gretchen &amp; Josh Allen’s home of more than 15 years in Aroma Park was directly in the storm’s path, &amp; the damage caused has been heartbreaking.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The tornado severely damaged the front portion of their home, leaving it unlivable &amp; forcing the family to suddenly relocate. Gretchen &amp; Josh, along with their young-adult son, Gavin, &amp; their 4 beloved cats, are temporarily staying in a local hotel while they wait for major repairs to begin.

<div>The storm also caused irreparable damage to their vehicles. Two of their cars were declared total losses after being struck by fallen trees &amp; large hail. The remaining two vehicles are older &amp; were also heavily damaged in the storm, making the Allen's reliable transportation for their daily commutes a huge burden &amp; source of stress.

<div>Like many families impacted by natural disasters, the Allens are now facing a long list of unexpected expenses, including:

<li>Temporary housing while their home is rebuilt

<li>Vehicle replacement or repairs
</li>
<li>Replacing damaged personal belongings
</li>
<li>Insurance deductibles &amp; other costs not covered by insurance

<div>We set a goal of $25,000 to help cover insurance deductibles, temporary housing, replacing two totaled vehicles, &amp; repairing the portions of their home that were crushed by the tornado.

<div>While Josh &amp; Gretchen are incredibly grateful that their family and community are safe, the road to rebuilding their lives will take time &amp; support.
</div>
