<div>Hi everyone, my name is Midori and my best friend is Tahzeen Alam. She has been like family to me for over a decade.

<div>Around 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26th, I got a text from Tahzeen telling me her house was on fire. She also sent me the picture above. The fire spread quickly, destroying the garage and causing significant damage to the family’s home. <strong>They have lived in this Apex home for over 15 years, and the entire family resides in the house.</strong>

<div>We are so grateful that the entire family made it out of the house safely. However, the Alam family has lost so much that can never be recovered. What I hope for now, is that we can raise money to help with their road towards recovery.
</div>

<div><strong>The fire started while the family was eating Iftar, which is a fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims during Ramadan.</strong> My heart breaks to know this traumatizing event occurred during a holy period of time for them.
</div>

<div><strong>Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community</strong>. I am hoping that as a community, we can come together to help support the Alam family as they find their footing after this tragic event.
