Help Terrill Covey Battle Cancer

Donation protected
My wife and I are creating this page for our son-in-law Terrill Covey. Within two weeks, Terrill was diagnosed with cancer, not once, but twice.  With one cancerous tumor successfully removed, he will be starting Chemotherapy treatments to fight the second tumor. He is at the beginning of his journey to battle cancer with a long road to recovery. We are asking for your help to support our family as we endure the physical, emotional and financial challenges we are about to face together.

Terrill works two jobs to provide for his wife (our daughter) and our 12-year-old granddaughter. His primary job is a teacher  for the Strafford Learning Center, working with  high school students. Not only is he able to provide his students with knowledge, he also demonstrates for them what a strong role model looks like and guides them towards a career path and better future. Terrill is very proud of his students, often speaking about them achieving the goals they have set for themselves. In addition to his day to day contributions to better the lives of others, he is also involved at the State and National level to ensure programs that serve students in need of special assistance continue to be supported and advanced.

Terrill’s dedication to the community extends even further as he is a writer for the local newspaper, mainly covering high school sports for multiple high schools in the Strafford County and Southern Maine school districts. He also authors a column about automobile racing based on his following of the ACT Late Model Tour and the NHRA drag racing events.

Terrill approached his sudden diagnosis the same way he approaches everything in life: with a positive attitude. He is a loving husband and father with the support of a strong family behind him. He is friendly, kind, generous, and always willing to help anyone who is in need. He never asks for anything in return. He’s the guy in the check out line who tells a joke, lets someone with less items go ahead of him, or is simply kind, just to brighten someone else’s day.

Our whole world has been turned upside down in the matter of two weeks. We are faced with challenges that will demand Terrill’s physical strength of his body to fight itself. Challenges that demand his mental strength to uphold his positive attitude and insistence on victory. Challenges that demand his wife and daughter’s understanding, patience, strength, support, and around the clock care. Challenges that their family, our family, will face when this battle is over and we are left with the financial aftermath. We ask for your generosity to help us face these challenges head on, to excel over these demands, and ensure our family walks off this battlefield stronger, healthier, and together.
