Help Terrence enter a new world!

Donation protected
At 15 years old, Terrence was given a sentence that all but guaranteed he would die in prison: 80 years for a car accident he caused that resulted in the tragic deaths of four people. A non-unanimous jury convicted Terrence, who is intellectually disabled, of manslaughter and a judge in Jefferson Parish sentenced Terrence to four terms of 20 years, to run consecutively.

Terrence has grown up in prison. In the last 23 years, he has completed 57 educational and therapeutic programs, facilitated multiple self-help groups and clubs and is known for being kind and generous.  Though intellectually limited, Terrence has never given up his dream of getting his GED; he has been diligently working toward that goal for over twelve years.

Last week, the Louisiana Supreme Court ordered the district court to amend those sentences to run concurrently - an order that resulted in Terrence's immediate release after serving 23 years in prison.

Terrence enters a world he has only known as a child. Please help him get on his feet!
