Help Terrance Fight Liver Disease
This is Terrance. Terrance is almost 3 years old and is suffering from liver disease. His condition was so bad he was having violent seizures. He could not be left alone since he was at risk of flipping onto his back and suffocating. Without the lifesaving efforts of his incredible medical team at Cape Veterinary and his dedicated human caretakers, Kaidyn & Leon, he surely would have died. Terrance WANTS to live and he DESERVES to live so we are asking the public to help.
Who is Terrance:
Terrance and his flock mate, Theresa, were rescued as little poults (that’s baby in turkey language!) from a fate that most broad breasted turkeys face. Slaughter. They would have been someone’s food! Just the thought of someone, anyone, eating our friends is beyond comprehension.
Terrance is a vibrant and funny guy who has made remarkable progress on his medication regimen. His will to live is unlike anyone I’ve ever seen before. He deserves the fighting chance to thrive! Terrance’s best friends are two teenage brothers who are committed to his wellbeing and happiness but we need your help.
His doctor visits and medication, like most animal family members, are not covered by any health insurance. And it’s not cheap. His medications alone currently cost $400/month and we are only 1 month into treatment. His liver counts are still dangerously high and his seizures will return without this medication so it’s absolutely necessary. His doctor appointments have already totaled about $1500 and more appointments will be needed to monitor his progress.
Please consider donating towards his vet bills and medication so we can continue his treatment. Terrance brings immense joy into our lives and to anyone who meets him. Don’t let the common misconception that these beautiful birds don’t want or deserve love and respect just as any other animal. Terrance is a turkey AND our friend.
