Help Terrance Beat Cancer

My name is Tyrianna Burks and I’m a Para Educator at Hurst Middle School in St. Charles Parish. I’m the mother of seven loving kids. The past few months have tested my strength in many ways. My 17-year-old son, Terrance got diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Terrance is currently a senior at Destrehan High School. This bout with cancer has put a damper on his senior year. He’s not able to participate in senior activities with the rest of his class. He may be only able to attend prom and graduation depending on his medical status at time of those events. This diagnosis came as a shock to both me and my kids. Terrance has to go back and forth to the hospital for weeks at a time for treatments. His hospital stays cause me to miss weeks of work without pay. I have exhausted all of my sick and personal days and now my pay is being docked. I have even filed for my FMLA and that too has been exhausted. This diagnosis has caused an extreme financial strain on me. I know that the holidays are a difficult time for all but if you see fit to bless my family, please do so. Prayers at this time are greatly appreciated as well.
