<div>Hi. My name is Cindy and I am the owner of my precious best friend Teddy. He is a 9 year old Cockapoo that I have had since he was 13 weeks old. He and I have a very close bond. He has been my best dog I have ever had. He also has been there for me through all of my illness with Lyme disease and it's coinfections. It has been a tough road. Without him it sure would have even been more difficult and lonely. He has been there for me and still is but now I need to be here for him!

<div>Upon a routine exam in August his doctor found a pea sized mass on his anal gland. He was given an antibiotic for two weeks to see if it may have some infection that would clear up before doing more invasive testing. Sadly when we went back it was still there so aspiration and cytology was performed.

<div>When those test results returned the bad news showed up. "There are multiple clusters of cells compatible with apocrine gland epithelium so there is concern for apocrine gland adenocarcinoma. The possibility that these are benign hyperplastic cells is considered unlikely. Surgical excision and submission of the mass for biopsy is recommended. Evaluation for metastasis is also recommended and could include diagnostic imaging of the body cavities and fine-needle aspiration of sublumbar lymph nodes. "

<div>With this surgery it can potentially extended Teddy's life by two years or longer. Just like any cancer patient it can be somewhat unpredictable and different in all cases. But I need to give my best buddy this chance.

<div>After this surgery and it's estimate it may be determined he needs to go to an oncologist in Lancaster, PA for additional chemo, etc. that will also extend his life.  This cost is undetermined obviously and would be additional.
</div>

<div>My Lyme disease over the past 9 years and still continuing has cost me a huge amount of out of pocket cash as no Lyme disease is paid for by anyone's insurance company past the first 4 weeks. It has been a big financial set back for me and as I mentioned continues to this day. I live alone with Teddy and my cats so we do the best we can. I have always provided for all of my furry family and would do anything I could for them.

<div>Not only was Teddy diagnosed with this horrible disease on the exact same day his test results came back my 9 year old white long haired cat Isabella was diagnosed with bladder stones that have to be surgically removed. So within 30 minutes I ended up with two sick pets needing surgery. I am totally overwhelmed.

<div>It is my turn to be here for Teddy  (and Isabella) but sadly that requires me to ask for help financially for him.

<div>I am so upset, scared and worried and being unable to afford his needed care is adding horribly to it all.

<div>If anyone can help at all in any way with his care I would be so grateful. No matter how large or small it will all help. I will have to have the needed amount before his surgery can even be scheduled and the longer I have to wait the more chances it could spread. This is a very aggressive type of cancer.
