Help "Team TJ" crush cancer

In late December of 2020, TJ (Tony Jacobsen) went in for a normal doctor visit after not feeling well and some irregularities were found in one of his x-rays. He was immediately scheduled for additional tests, along with a CT scan. The results of the scan showed a large mass in his pancreas as well as smaller masses in other areas, including the liver. Doctors then performed a biopsy on the liver and determined that TJ had a rare pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor which had metastasized to his liver. In short, the diagnosis was Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Obviously, this was devastating news to TJ and his family/friends. However, after exhaustive consults with oncologists and surgeons at the Mayo Clinic, it was determined that TJ is a candidate for surgery to remove the cancer from his pancreas and liver. This will be a difficult and painful process for him along with an extensive recovery period.
For those of you that know TJ, he is a hardworking, strong minded person who would never ask for a dime but would certainly go out of his way to help anyone in need. He has dedicated his life to serving others, which started when he enlisted in the Army right out of high school and continues to this day with his service as an officer with the Rochester Police Department. This diagnosis was an unexpected turn in his plans as he nears retirement, but he’s bound and determined to beat this. TJ is also a devoted husband as well as a fun-loving dad and grandpa to six grandkids.
As the Jacobsens go through this journey, they are going to need all the help and support that friends, family and others can provide. The treatments and medical bills, as well as lost time from work, will undoubtedly create a financial hardship for TJ and Teresa. The frequent trips from Owatonna to Rochester will, often times, necessitate an overnight hotel stay for Teresa so she can be close to TJ. Any monetary support that can be provided to the Jacobsens will greatly assist them in successfully fighting this horrible disease. Please keep the Jacobsens in your thoughts and prayers.
