<div>ENG: There's not a lot of Latvians in the world, and only a handful of them can play roller derby, but by some miracle there is enough of us to form a national team to represent Latvia at the upcoming Roller Derby World Cup 3-6 July, in Innsbruck, Austria.

<div>This is going to be our first time at the Roller Derby World Cup as a national team, and we're very excited to participate as part of the Emerging Nations. As we had to search for roller-skating-derby-playing Latvians far and wide, our bills are looking very high. TT.TT Our skaters and crew will travel from Latvia, Sweden, Scotland, Canada and Australia.

<div>LV: Latvijas rollerderbija izlase piedalīsies Pasaules kausa izcīņas sacensībās, kas notiks Insbrukā, Austrijā, no 2025. gada 3. līdz 6. jūlijam. Šis ir vēsturisks notikums, jo tā būs Latvijas komandas pirmā dalība Pasaules kausa izcīņā!

<div>Rollerderbijs ir pilna kontakta komandu ekstrēmais sporta veids, ko spēlē ar rollerslidām (skrituļslidas ar četriem ritentiņiem, pa divi katrā rindā) iekštelpās. Baltijas valstīs rollerderbijs aizsācies pirms 11 gadiem līdz ar Riga Roller Derby komandas izveidi, un šobrīd tā joprojām ir vienīgā rollerderbija komanda Baltijā, kas piedalās starptautiskās sacensībās.

<div>Piedaloties starptautiskos turnīros līdz šim esam sacentušās ar komandām no Izraēlas, Polijas, Čehijas, Somijas, Zviedrijas un citām. 2018.gadā, apvienojoties ar Igaunijas spēlētājām komandā Team Baltic Rollerderby, Rollerderbija Pasaules kausa laikā Mančestrā uzvarējām draudzības spēli ar Izraēlas komandu.

<div>2024. gadā, gatavojoties rollerderbija Pasaules kausam, tika izveidota Latvijas rollerderbija izlase, lai pirmo reizi sporta vēsturē pārstāvētu Latviju šajā sporta veidā pasaules līmenī. Latvijas izlasē iekļautas labākās sportistes no Riga Roller Derby

<div>komandas, kā arī spēcīgas latviešu izcelsmes spēlētājas no Kanādas, Austrālijas, Skotijas un Zviedrijas.

<div>Atšķirībā no daudzām komandām, kuras saņem ārēju finansējumu, vienmēr visus treniņu un izbraukuma spēļu izdevumus kā esam segušas pašas. Tomēr šoreiz, gatavojoties Pasaules kausam rollerdērbijā, uzrunājam draugus, kas tic mūsu sapnim - ar lepnumu pārstāvēt Latviju pasaulē.
