Help Teagan and her family make memories

One of our beloved members of the Cambridge Rugby Union Football Club girls U18s team Teagan was diagnosed with a rare cancer called alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma in September 2020. The cancer had spread throughout her entire pelvis, femurs, lymph nodes, bone marrow and even further. She was put on intensive chemotherapy for seven months, and at the end of this treatment she had five and a half weeks of radiotherapy to her entire pelvis, including the tops of her femurs. She responded really well to this initial treatment and was free of cancer in April 2021 and was even looking forward to rejoining her team. She was then put on a maintenance plan of chemotherapy with the aim to keep the cancer away but sadly this has not worked and she received news of immense sadness in September of 2021, confirming that the cancer has returned in her chest and brain. The doctors said, unfortunately all  chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment will be for palliation and to keep her feeling well for as long as they can. 

Teagan did not want to know how long she has left but understands this is an aggressive cancer that spreads quickly. She has been incredibly strong, resilient, practical and brave throughout all this treatment, never giving up. Even now, while facing this diagnosis she stands strong and continues with a 'can do attitude'. Teagan aims to live life to the fullest for as long as she can.
