Hello! My name is Justin Haskins, the head of the Stopping Socialism Project at The Heartland Institute, a national nonprofit think tank. I know time is precious, so I’ll cut straight to the chase: We desperately need your help.
My team and I are working every single day to teach young people the truth about socialism, but without more financial support, we’re going to need to scale back our efforts at this critical moment in American history.

Leading socialist politicians and large socialist organizations have managed to convince millions of people to donate less than $100 to support their cause, and those efforts have proven to be remarkably successful, raising tens of millions of dollars to promote ideas that we know would ruin the United States and significantly limit freedom.
We’re asking you to step up to the plate to counter those movements by supporting the Stopping Socialism Project.
Over the past two years, myself and a very talented team of freedom-loving young people have built one of the nation’s most effective anti-socialism campaigns. Experts in Heartland’s Stopping Socialism Project have appeared on television and radio well over 130 times since the project’s launch.
On my own, I’ve had more than 75 appearances on television shows like Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Tonight and Fox & Friends, Fox Business Channel’s Varney & Co., TheBlaze TV’s Glenn Beck Program, and One America News Network’s Tipping Point with Liz Wheeler.
Our project launched one of the world’s most influential anti-socialism websites, Stopping Socialism, which has been endorsed by leading conservative voices like Glenn Beck and Michelle Malkin.
Project co-leader Donald Kendal and I also served as the first and second contributors, respectively, on Glenn Beck’s newest book, Arguing with Socialists, which appeared on The New York Times’ “Bestseller List” in the spring of 2020.
We’ve worked hard—with very little funding—and we’ve succeeded in becoming the people the leaders of the pro-liberty movement turn to when they need help battling against socialism.
Our efforts reached millions of people in 2019 and 2020, but so much more is needed, and we can’t do it without support from donors like you.
What We Will Do with Your Donation
With additional financial help, the Stopping Socialism Project will dramatically expand its efforts on social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube, attend more events with college students, and roll out a plan to convince state lawmakers across the country to mandate all public schools teach our children the truth about socialism’s long history of failure.
Our Facebook page is already one of the most prominent socialism-specific social media accounts in the world. In the first quarter of 2020, the Stopping Socialism Facebook page generated a total reach of 1.44 million, and the social media accounts associated with the Stopping Socialism Project have more than 130,000 followers.
The Stopping Socialism Project also launched its own YouTube Channel—Stopping Socialism TV—in the first quarter of 2020, and it has already produced more than a dozen videos that have been viewed more than 80,000 times on YouTube and Facebook. We also just rolled out a new socialism-specific podcast.
With your help, we can expand these efforts and reach millions of additional young people in 2020, but if we don’t receive more financial support, we are going to have to significantly scale back.
I know we’re living in truly unprecedented times, but that’s why it’s important, now more than ever, to battle as hard as we possibly can against collectivist movements. Socialists are using the present crisis to advance their agenda, and they aren’t going to stop. We must fight and win this debate, or else we will lose our country.
