Help Tarek beat stage 4 cancer

UPDATE 2022

March tests confirmed his tumor markers were back up again, so Tarek received additional rounds of (heavy) TIP chemo. In August, his regimen was switched to a low-dose treatment. Another challenge, but he'll come out stronger.

Thank you for all the encouraging messages.

UPDATE 2021

Hey everyone!

It's been a year filled with pain, nausea, vomiting, nosebleeds, numbness, tears and skateless days. A year filled with long hospital days, waiting for appointments, waiting for answers, waiting for what the next day might bring, but it was also a year of revelation, growth, pure love and true friendships. Thank you for being by his side.

Thank you to everyone who donated - together we reached the fundraising goal and managed to cover last year's treatments! Special thank you to Vans Korea, Push Media and the Berrics as well. Please know that wherever you are in this world, we would love to be able to thank each and everyone of you in person.

Tarek is now officially in partial remission. The tumor is still there, but it remains stable. This chemo break has been a welcome one, allowing his body and brain to get the necessary recharge.

Much love,

Lea

ORIGINAL POST - MARCH 20, 2020

Hi guys,

Lea here.

I'm starting this campaign to help my boyfriend Tarek as we just found out he has stage 4 cancer and is in need of immediate treatment.

Tarek has always been a dearly loved and supportive member of the music community here in Seoul. He's a real music enthusiast and has always enjoyed supporting local parties and clubs. The skate community is another community that is close to his heart. They've always been very welcoming and gone out of their way to help out.

We have tried to get him back home to Casablanca, Morocco for treatment, but because of Covid-19, Morocco has closed its borders and isn't allowing international flights to come in for the time being.

In order to give him the best chances, he’s going to need our help. The doctor has urged him to start additional tests and chemotherapy here in Korea first. Testing will include a biopsy, chest CT scan, PET scan and other lab tests. After that, we're hoping to get a first chemotherapy session done here. In order to get his tests and first chemotherapy session. These initial stages will cost 8 million Korean won.

We understand that everyone is going through difficult times at the moment due to the global pandemic, but we kindly ask for your assistance through these unexpected circumstances. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your support, and please keep Tarek in your thoughts!
