Help Tansy Get Back on Her Feet

My sister Kate’s young sport dog, Tansy, needs our help. If you know Kate, you know she has a heart of gold always rescuing and fundraising for animals in need. She’s the first to step up for others but never one to ask for help herself. So, I’m asking on her behalf.

After Ontario’s record-breaking snowstorm, Tansy was let outside for a quick bathroom break. Unfortunately, she took a wrong step in the deep snow, slipped on ice, and suffered a serious injury. Vets confirmed she ruptured her cruciate ligament and now requires urgent orthopedic surgery (TPLO), costing between $8,000 and $10,000, followed by months of intensive rehab at $150 per session. Without surgery, she’s at high risk of rupturing the other knee due to overcompensation.

Tansy is only two years old… strong, healthy, and full of life. She’s passed all her health clearances (OFA hips/elbows, PennHIP, and Embark testing) with flying colors. Sometimes, despite doing everything right, bad luck still finds a way.

While she has pet insurance, there’s a chance the surgery may not be covered. The status of the claim is still unknown. For now, we are focusing on raising funds to cover her rehabilitation costs.
