Help Tamata with her immigration fees

Hello,

 

I am a woman from the Middle East who is immigrating to the U.S. A long journey has brought me to this point in my life. I'm living with my partner, who provides for me and helps me with some of these (and other) expenses.

 

I am asking you to help me with my immigration expenses in any amount that you are willing and comfortable to send my way. I am not yet allowed to work in this country so I am relying on others to help me until I have legal permission to get a job. In the meantime, I do small, odd jobs, which all go to paying these fees.

 

My goal amount will cover two things: my lawyer expenses and miscellaneous immigration-related expenses (e.g. transportation, printing and mailing documents, etc). If I even meet 25% of my goal, it would be a huge help.

 

In the photo posted for this GoFundMe, you cannot see my face. It is the only photo of myself that I am willing to post because my family does not know that I have removed the hijab. In my part of the world, I am what people call a heretic. In my country, I lived in fear of being forced into an arranged marriage. More than that, I lived in fear of having my atheistic beliefs and past sinful actions exposed; I had no option but to live as a covered, devoted Muslim woman.

 

All I want from life is to live freely; to let my hair down, make meaningful connections with other people, indulge in my personal interests, and contribute to my community. My country does not allow me any of those simple freedoms. Due to my fear of my family and community, I have kept the provided information limited and vague (such as personal information) so as to avoid being doxxed. I am normally extremely careful on the internet because I value my safety.

 

Your help will contribute to my future of staying in this country to live my life truly and fully.
