Takoa Byrd has been passionate about rugby since he was just five years old. Over the years, he’s played with different teams at various levels, always striving to improve his skills and deepen his love for the game. His dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed—his high school coaches recently referred him to the prestigious Crusaders Global Academy in New Zealand. This opportunity could open huge doors for Takoa, giving him the chance to develop his game and potentially earn a professional international contract.

The cost of the program, housing, and living expenses in New Zealand is significant. Takoa has worked tirelessly this past year, saving his own money to make this dream a reality. As a single mom, I’ve done everything I can to help, but we’re still short of what’s needed to cover the final expenses. Every contribution will go directly toward supporting Takoa’s journey and helping him seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Rugby means so much to our family. Takoa grew up watching his dad play and coach a high school team for years, until his father tragically passed away in an auto accident. Now, Takoa is determined to make his dad proud and fulfill his dream of playing professional rugby. We would be deeply grateful for any support you can offer to help Takoa take this important step toward his future.
