On Memorial Day, our sweet cat Tails came home limping after a fight. We rushed her to the vet, where we were told she had a fractured leg. They put her in a splint and sent her home with antibiotics and pain medication, and we hoped she’d be back to her playful self in no time.
But just days later, something was very wrong.
We started noticing a terrible odor coming from her leg. When we took her back to the vet, our worst fears were confirmed: the injury had become severely infected, and the infection had already started rotting her leg. The only way to save her was an emergency amputation.
Tails lost her leg—but she never lost her spirit.
She’s been incredibly brave through all of this. Even now, she still purrs, cuddles, and greets us with love. But this unexpected emergency has hit us hard, especially financially.
Her first vet bill was $1,400
The surgery and vet visit cost us $3,000 + post-op meds, checkups, and special care as she recovers.
We’re doing everything we can to give Tails the comfort and care she deserves—but we could really use your help. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical expenses and healing.
If you can’t donate, please share her story. The more people who see this, the better chance we have of covering her care and giving her the life she still deserves—with love, safety, and lots of snuggles.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us help Tails.
