 Op 26 augustus 2026 werd het Nepalese dorp Syabru Besi getroffen door een verwoestende overstroming. Veel mensen zijn om het leven gekomen, anderen worden nog vermist. Het water, de modder en het puin hebben grote delen van het dorp weggevaagd. De omvang van de ramp is nauwelijks te bevatten.

 Syabru Besi is voor ons een heel bijzondere plek. We komen hier al jaren en kennen veel mensen, families en kinderen uit het dorp. Via de HDM Youth Academy hebben we een hechte band opgebouwd met onze Nepalese vrienden. Juist daarom komt deze ramp zo ontzettend hard binnen.

 Op dit moment worden schooltjes gebruikt als noodopvang voor mensen die hun huis zijn kwijtgeraakt. Er is dringend behoefte aan bedden, dekens, drinkwater en eten.

<div><span> Ik heb een bijzondere en persoonlijke band met Syabru Besi. Ik ben meerdere keren in het dorp geweest en heb hier goede vrienden aan wie ik het geld graag wil helpen overbrengen. Daarnaast ben ik als voorzitter van de HDM Youth Academy al jarenlang betrokken bij het dorp en de lokale gemeenschap.

De ingezamelde donaties zijn bedoeld om de mensen in Syabru Besi die door de overstromingen en landslides zijn getroffen zo direct mogelijk te helpen. Het geld zal worden gebruikt voor noodzakelijke noodhulp, zoals voedsel, drinkwater, kleding, medische benodigdheden en andere eerste levensbehoeften.  Ik zal hiervoor samenwerken met mijn betrouwbare lokale contacten in Syabru Besi. Zij kunnen ter plaatse het beste beoordelen waar de hulp het hardst nodig is en ervoor zorgen dat de donaties daadwerkelijk bij de getroffen mensen terechtkomen.

Ik zal transparant blijven over de besteding van de ingezamelde gelden en waar mogelijk updates en foto’s delen over de hulp die met deze actie wordt geboden. Iedere donatie, groot of klein, betekent ontzettend veel voor de mensen in Syabru Besi. ❤️</span><br />
