Swee (Alex) was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma cancer (head and neck cancer) the Wednesday before Thanksgiving 2017. We are trying to raise $75,000, to help pay medical, mortgage & household bills to keep their family running so Alex and his family can concentrate on fighting his cancer.
This was shocking news to Swee (Alex), his family, and all close to him. Swee’s family and friends have spent the last several weeks in discovery mode, developing strategies, as he mounts the battle of his life. He is touched and greatly appreciates the support he has received.
We've decided to reach out to the Go Fund Me community after we learned that Swee’s new US residency of two years does not qualify him for any government benefits, until a 5 year time requirement has been met, even though he’s been paying taxes into the system since 2006.
As you may know-
Swee has been working in construction, high-end residential & commercial projects in NYC. His building standards, judgement, & aesthetics are impeccable. Many of us live and interact with his work daily, and have benefited from his excellence, & craftsmanship. He comes to work early every single morning with a smile on his face eager to tackle any, & all tasks at hand, never disappoints, always able to solve complex issues, parse fine mathematical details, and will engage in aesthetic debates sometimes for hours, days, or even weeks. He rarely expresses frustration & is always happy to be productive.
It has been our great pleasure to have known and worked with Swee for the past 17 years.
We thank you so much for any and all contributions to Swee and his family.
