Let's Help Susie Fight!

Susie was diagnosed with Stage 2b breast cancer in 2013.  She went into remission in 2014 after a mastectomy,  chemo, radiation, and reconstruction.  In June of 2017, it was confirmed that the cancer had returned to her hip and chest lymph nodes.  The cancer has now spread to other areas  including her brain, fluid surrounding her heart and lungs.  Susie is currently being treated at Stanford Health Center.  From the cancer, she has lost her ability to speak, eat, drink, and exercise. She recently had a tracheotomy and has been at Stanford Hospital since August 30th.  


Susie has had multiple surgeries and operations during our current stay at Stanford to mitigate the affects of the tumors and fluids surrounding the heart and lungs.  She is also receiving radiation and  chemo therapy.  She has had cyber knife radiation to radiate the 7 lesions found in the brain.


If treatment goes for several more months,  Susie's husband Tony will be unable to support the family and will have to return to work.


The money will go toward transportation, lodging, food, etc. and other costs for staying in Palo Alto.  The funds will also potentially help pay for medical bills if they reach their max with insurance, and they will help support the family once Tony's leave benefits have exhausted.


Parents around the schools have been great with setting up time for Noah and Kayla to hang out with their friends after school and on weekends.  This is a tremendous help and a good distraction for the kids.  It has definitely affected them as they want us to come home as soon as possible, and always asking if mom will be ok.  Please continue supporting Noah and Kayla in this manner, it has really helped them.
